The ASTM A307 standard defines the chemical and mechanical standards of some externally threaded fasteners made of carbon steel such as bolts, studs, and threaded rods. This ASTM Standard stipulates a minimum tensile strength of 60 ksi of these ASTM A307 Fasteners. First, the standard identified three grades (A, B and C), but Grade C was later replaced by ASTM F1554 Grade 36. It should be mentioned that the A307 standard is not used in machine screws, thread cutting/forming screws, mechanical expansion anchors, and others. Under this specification, when fasteners are to be tested, sampled specimen should meet specified values related to chemical composition, hardness, tensile strength, yield point, elongation, and dimensions.

ASTM A307 Hex Bolts, Heavy Hex Bolts, Fasteners, Studs, Socket Head Cap Screws, Threaded Rods Manufacturer & Supplier in India
Jade Special Metals is a major manufacturer and distributor in India of a variety of ASTM A307 Bolts and other related fasteners such as Long Bolts, 12 point Bolts and Studs (All-thread, Double-End etc.). These are available in sizes of 1/2 to 3 1/2 with matching nuts (Hex Nuts, Heavy Hex Nuts) and full threaded rods.
Externally threaded carbon steel bolts such as Hex Cap Screws (machine bolts) and Studs are speculated in the ASTM A307 specification, which has a tensile strength requirement of 60 ksi minimum. These are ASTM A307 fasteners that are essential in high-torque flanged connections in the petroleum and chemical sectors, and operate at all common thread pitch (UNC, UNF, 8UN) as well as metric diameters. Our specialty is hundreds of combinations of material, plating, and thread, including customer-made A307 bolts to particular customer drawings, even on a critical Superalloy application.

Frequently Asked Questions About ASTM A307 Bolts
What is ASTM A307 bolt material?
ASTM A307 specification is set on all-standardized carbon steel bolts and studs of diameter between 1/4 inch and 4 inch. They are typical clamp types regularly made of A36 round bar material. The specification has three grades of A, B, C, though Grade C has been mostly superseded by ASTM F1554 Grade 36, which describe the tensile strength needed by the fastener, its arrangement and its purpose.
What is A307 Grade A equivalent to?
ASTM A307 Grade A bolts are rated as low- to medium-strength bolts that are capable of providing tensile strength ranging to 60,000 psi. They are typically utilized in the general and non-critical applications and are similar to SAE J429 Grade 2 specification.
What is the difference between A325 and A307 bolts?
The essence of difference between the ASTM A307 and ASTM A325 bolts is associated with the strength needed and the importance of application. A307 bolts are not intended to be used in heavier or dynamic loads in general, non-critical applications such as simple construction hardware, anchor bolts or sign supports, as they do not need to be highly strong. A325 bolts on the other hand are bolts that are high-quality fastening items and which are specifically designed to serve purposes in which structural integrity and engineered performance are critical like steel structures, large-scale infrastructure and load-bearing connectors.
