Jade Alloys is a trusted source for Hastelloy C276 pipes and tubes engineered for the most aggressive service environments. Every Hastelloy C276 pipe and tube we supply is produced from traceable, high-purity nickel-alloy stock and inspected against international specifications before it leaves our facility.

Hastelloy C276 (UNS N10276) is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy prized for its versatility across oxidising and reducing conditions. Its high molybdenum and tungsten content delivers exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride-induced stress-corrosion cracking, which is why an alloy C276 pipe is the default choice for wet chlorine, sulfuric and hydrochloric acid, sour gas and flue-gas desulfurisation duty. We hold ready stock across common schedules and can fabricate non-standard sizes to order, so buyers get both fast delivery on routine requirements and a single point of contact for special dimensions.

Whether you need a single Hastelloy C276 seamless pipe for a heat-exchanger repair or a bulk export lot of welded tube for a new process plant, Jade Alloys supplies the correct grade, documentation and packaging on time and to specification.

What Is Hastelloy C276 (UNS N10276)?

Hastelloy C276 is one of the most widely used nickel-base corrosion-resistant alloys in the world. A typical composition balances roughly 57% nickel with 15–17% molybdenum, 14.5–16.5% chromium, 4–7% iron and 3–4.5% tungsten, while carbon and silicon are deliberately held very low (0.010% C max). This low-carbon “L-grade” chemistry minimises grain-boundary carbide precipitation during welding, so a Hastelloy C276 pipe retains its corrosion resistance even in the as-welded condition, a major practical advantage for fabricators.

The result is an alloy that resists a broader range of chemicals than almost any other single material: strong oxidisers, reducing acids, chloride solutions and mixed-acid streams. Combined with good ductility, high tensile strength and excellent weldability, these properties make Hastelloy C276 tube and pipe a long-life, low-maintenance solution for chemical processing, oil and gas, marine and pollution-control systems.

Frequently Asked Questions - Hastelloy C276 Pipes and Tubes

1. What is Hastelloy C276 pipe made of?

Hastelloy C276 pipe is a nickel-base alloy containing roughly 57% nickel, 15–17% molybdenum, 14.5–16.5% chromium, 4–7% iron and 3–4.5% tungsten, with carbon held to 0.010% maximum. This low-carbon, high-molybdenum chemistry (UNS N10276 / Werkstoff 2.4819) delivers outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress-corrosion cracking in both oxidising and reducing media.

2. What standards do Hastelloy C276 pipes and tubes conform to?

Seamless pipe and tube are supplied to ASTM B622 / ASME SB622, welded pipe to ASTM B619 / ASME SB619, and welded tube to ASTM B626 / ASME SB626. Dimensions follow ASME, ASTM and API, and material ships with EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 mill test certificates.

3. What is the maximum service temperature for Hastelloy C276?

Hastelloy C276 can be used continuously up to about 800°F (425°C), with intermittent service to roughly 1000°F (540°C). Its melting range is 1325–1370°C (2415–2500°F). It is not recommended for hot, concentrated nitric acid or similar strongly oxidising environments.

4. What sizes of Hastelloy C276 pipes and tubes are available?

Jade Alloys stocks Hastelloy C276 pipe from 1/8″ NB to 30″ NB and tube from about 3 mm to 219 mm OD, in walls from 0.35 mm to 50 mm, in schedules SCH 5S, 10S, 40, 80, 120, 160 and XXS. Standard and custom cut lengths are available up to 6 metres.

5. What is the difference between Hastelloy C276 and Hastelloy C22?

Hastelloy C276 has higher molybdenum (15–17%) and tungsten, making it excellent in reducing acids, while Hastelloy C22 has higher chromium (20–22.5%) for better performance in oxidising media. C276 is the more economical, general-purpose grade; C22 offers superior oxidising-acid and heat-affected-zone resistance at a higher cost.

6.Is Hastelloy C276 suitable for seawater and sour gas service?

Yes. Hastelloy C276 resists pitting and crevice corrosion in seawater and sulfide stress cracking in sour service, and is widely specified to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 for offshore, subsea and sour-gas oil and gas applications.

7. What test certificates are provided with Hastelloy C276 pipes and tubes?

Every order ships with EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 mill test certificates covering chemical (spectro) analysis, mechanical tests, PMI, hydrostatic and non-destructive testing, intergranular corrosion (IGC), flaring and flattening tests, plus third-party inspection reports on request.
