Stainless Steel Sheets & Plates Manufacturer, Supplier & Exporter in India
Stainless Steel Sheets & Plates Stockist, Stainless Steel Sheet Suppliers, Stainless Steel Plates Exporter, SS Sheets & Plates Stockist and Stainless Steel Sheets Manufacturers in India
Stainless steel has become an indispensable material across industrial and manufacturing sectors, valued above all for its high resistance to corrosion and long service life. Among its most adaptable product forms are Stainless Steel Sheets and Plates, used in everything from structural construction and pressure vessels to food-grade equipment and domestic cutlery. Choosing the correct stainless steel sheet thickness, grade and surface finish is the single biggest factor in how a component performs and in what you finally pay for it.
Jade Alloys is a prominent SS Sheets and Plates manufacturer and one of the most trusted Stainless Steel Sheet Suppliers in India. We rank among the leading stainless steel sheets manufacturers in India for high-quality SS Sheets & Plates, supplying flat-rolled products in thicknesses from 0.3 mm to 100 mm, widths up to 3500 mm, and in over 40 grades from commercial 202 and 304 through to 904L, SMO 254, Duplex and Super Duplex.
We believe in the best quality of raw material. Our engineers monitor the entire manufacturing, rolling, annealing, pickling and finishing process so that quality is never compromised. Every SS Plate and SS Sheet we dispatch is produced to national and international standards including ASTM, ASME, AISI, DIN, BS, EN, IS and JIS, making them reliably acceptable on international EPC and refinery projects.
Alongside stainless, we also stock and export flat products in Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy, Nickel and SMO 254 plus matching Stainless Steel Round Bars, Pipes & Tubes and Stainless Steel Fasteners for complete project supply from a single source.
What Is a Stainless Steel Sheet?
A stainless steel sheet is a flat-rolled product made from an alloy of iron containing a minimum of 10.5% chromium, along with other elements such as nickel, molybdenum and titanium. That chromium forms a self-repairing passive oxide layer, which is what gives stainless its corrosion resistance.
Stainless steel sheet has high malleability and can be cut, bent, rolled, drawn or welded into almost any form. It also offers considerable design flexibility, since the surface can be finished anywhere from a matte 2B to a full 8K mirror, in a range of metallic tones that suit architectural and decorative work. As a rule of thumb, stainless steel sheet is thinner than 6 mm. Sheets are frequently corrugated or diamonded creasing at regular intervals, or adding raised diamond ridges which adds structural stiffness without adding weight.
You can read more in our guide: How to Choose the Right Stainless Steel Sheet for Your Application.
What Is a Stainless Steel Plate?
A stainless steel plate, or SS Plate, is a flat product with a thickness greater than 6 mm. The extra section thickness translates directly into load-bearing capability, impact resistance and pressure retention.
The stainless steel plate is heavily used in construction because it is both strong and corrosion resistant. Stainless Steel Plates & Sheets are equally important in the fabrication of tanks, containers, storage vessels and heavy machinery, thanks to their ability to endure internal pressure and substantial swings in temperature. The non-reactive nature of the stainless steel plate also makes it an essential material in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors, for process equipment, surgical instruments and implants.

Fabrication, Welding & Heat Treatment
Stainless steel sheets and plates are frequently specified for process streams carrying high levels of chlorides or halides. The addition of molybdenum — as in 316, 316L and 317L — materially improves pitting and general corrosion resistance. Dual-certified low-carbon variants with nitrogen additions achieve the required mechanical properties while keeping carbon low enough to resist sensitisation during welding.
In the annealed condition, austenitic SS sheet is essentially non-magnetic; it becomes slightly magnetic after cold working or welding. It is weldable by all standard shop fabrication processes. Hot working is carried out between 927 °C and 1204 °C, and for maximum properties the material is annealed at up to 1038 °C. These grades are readily cold worked, an operation that increases strength and hardness — which is why best machining results are obtained in the annealed condition.
Quality is verified through a full programme of destructive and non-destructive tests, including tensile, hardness, bend, IGC (intergranular corrosion), PMI, ultrasonic and dye-penetrant testing. Every consignment is supplied with EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 mill test certificates.
Stainless Steel Plates & Sheets HS Code
For smooth global trade and customs clearance, the table below provides the essential Harmonized System (HS) codes classifying flat-rolled stainless steel products by width and processing.
| HS Code | Description |
|---|---|
| 7219 | Flat-rolled products of stainless steel, of a width of 600 mm or more — covers most standard-sized plates and sheets, including hot-rolled and cold-rolled finishes. |
| 7220 | Flat-rolled products of stainless steel, of a width of less than 600 mm — generally narrow strip and slit coils. |
