About Slotted Castle Nuts
Castle Nuts are specialized six-sided hexagon nuts featuring a distinct slotted pattern on one end that resembles the battlements of a medieval castle. Due to this design, they are frequently referred to as Slotted Castle Nuts or hex slotted nuts. These nuts are used in conjunction with a bolt or stud that has a pre-drilled hole; once the nut is tightened, a cotter pin or safety wire is inserted through the slots and the hole to provide a positive mechanical lock, preventing the nut from backing off.
