About Square Nuts
Square Nuts are four-sided, square bodied nut fasteners which are tapped in the center thread. While they are often paired with square-headed bolts to maintain a traditional aesthetic or specific fit, their application is not limited to those alone. Due to their flat sides, Square Nuts offer a greater surface area in contact with the part being fastened, providing greater resistance to loosening.
While a square body profile can typically sustain less torquing force compared to a six-sided hexagon nut, they are ideal for use in tight spaces or blind channels where the nut must stay in a fixed position. Also known as 4-sided nuts or square body nuts, our dimensions are available in both metric and imperial sizes with UNC, UNF, and ISO metric thread profiles.
