What is a Stainless Steel Round Bar?
Stainless steel round bars are the straight cylindrical metal bars which have wide application in construction and engineering sectors. They are known to have high tensile strength and inherent capacity to resist rust thus making them necessary in structural components including beams and columns as well as in automobile parts that are made with precision machines. As leading stainless steel round bar suppliers, we ensure that every ss round bar provides the high-temperature tolerance and mechanical integrity required for heavy-duty industrial applications.

Stainless Steel Round Bar manufacturer in India
Jade Alloys is a leading Stainless Steel Round Bar manufacturer in India and produces high quality materials that are meant to give durability and long life. The distinguishing feature of these bars is that the more chromium they contain, the higher is the capacity of the material to stop corrosion and oxidation. This is why a stainless round bar is a secure solution to industries that have to be used in a heavy environment that is characterized by a lot of moisture and/or high concentration of chemicals.
These products commonly come under the name of a Stainless Steel Rod and are multi-purpose and depend on the type of grade and need. We produce our inventory by strict standards such as the ASTM A276 specification that encompasses both the hot-rolled and cold-drawn procedures. Although the most common profile used is the stainless steel round bars, other extruded profiles like square, hexagon and flat bars are also offered according to various engineering applications.
The choice between a hot-rolled and cold-drawn finish depends largely on the final use of the product. A Hot Rolled Stainless Steel Round Bar typically has a rougher surface, which is perfectly suitable for structural projects where strength is the primary concern. However, for outdoor fixtures or architectural designs where appearance matters, a Cold Drawn Stainless Steel Round Bar is the better option due to its smooth surface and precise dimensions. Our inventory covers a broad size range from 5mm to 450mm, and we are happy to provide a full size chart and current pricing upon request.
We have a huge inventory of ss round bars in different grades that meet specific requirements, like high-temperature tolerance of heat exchanger in high temperature or excellent resistance of corrosion in marine environments. We have a wide size line between 5mm and 450mm and we will be pleased to issue a full size chart and up-to-date prices on request.

Stainless Steel Round Manufacturing Process
The production of high-quality stainless steel bars involves a precise series of stages, from raw material processing to the final dispatch of finished products.
- Raw Material Preparation: The process begins with raw materials such as iron ore, coal, and coke. These materials are processed through sintering and pelletizing plants to create the necessary inputs for smelting.
- Melting and Refining: Raw inputs and Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) are fed into an Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) to produce molten stainless steel. This stage is powered by a dedicated high-voltage power supply.
- Continuous Casting: The molten metal is transferred to a Bloom Caster or Billet Caster. These machines solidify the liquid steel into intermediate shapes like blooms or billets.
- Forming and Shaping: These intermediate sections are then hot-rolled or extruded into various finished shapes, including round bars, hexagonal bars, and flat bars.
- Finishing and Despatch: Once the bars reach the desired dimensions and surface finish (such as cold drawn or polished), they undergo final inspection before being dispatched to the customer.

Frequently Asked Questions About Stainless Steel Round Bars
A stainless steel round bar is extensively used in the manufacture of shafts for rotating equipment and in high-precision machining. These bars are widely used across various industries, from hygienic applications in food and beverage processing to heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant components such as pump shafts and valve spindles in large-scale industrial plants.
While stainless steel round bars are naturally corrosion-resistant due to their chromium content, they are not completely rust-proof. Although significantly more resistant than conventional carbon steel, prolonged exposure to harsh environments such as saltwater, aggressive chemicals, moisture, grease, or extreme heat can eventually lead to corrosion.
Hot-finished (hot-rolled) bars are heated above the recrystallization temperature, making them more cost-effective but with a rougher surface and possible scaling. Cold-finished bars are processed below the recrystallization temperature and typically undergo additional finishing processes, resulting in tighter dimensional tolerances, improved surface finish, and better precision.
