Advantages of Waspaloy Round Bars
1. Large Strength at Higher Temperatures
Waspaloy Round Bars retain their strength and structural integrity to temperatures up to 980 °C and are therefore used in high-heat applications such as gas turbines and aerospace engines.
2. Very high Resistance to Corrosion
These bars are highly resistant to oxidation, sulfidation, and corrosive factory conditions, which will provide a longer service life with minimum maintenance.
3. Good Fatigue Resistance
Waspaloy Round Bars are capable of being subjected to repeated mechanical stress, cyclic loading and the material will not crack or fail, thus can be used in rotating and high-vibration applications.
4. Good Fabricability
Waspaloy can accept carbide tooling and controlled feeds/speeds to be machined, yet accepts standard TIG/GTAW welding and conventional age-hardening heat treatments. so it is easy to get used to aerospace fabricators with experience.
5. High Tensile & Yield Strength
Having an extraordinary load-bearing capacity, these bars are engineered to support serious mechanical strain, thus being a reliable option to essential structural components of aerospace and power generation.
6. Non-Magnetic Properties
The annealed state of Waspaloy is non-magnetic and therefore it is used as a component in precision instruments and sensitive equipment where magnetic interference is a factor.
7. Age-Hardenable
The mechanical properties of Waspaloy are easily manipulated by means of controlled heat treatment to the exact desired strengths and hardness needed in various applications.
8. Better Alloy 718 under High Temperatures
The Waspaloy round bars have a temperature range of more than 980°C. Waspaloy offers more strength and oxidation resistance than Alloy 718 and it is therefore used in extreme environments where high temperatures have to be encountered.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Waspaloy Round Bars are high-performance nickel-based superalloy bars known for their exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and ability to perform reliably at extreme temperatures up to 980°C. They are widely used in aerospace, power generation, and industrial applications.
Yes, Waspaloy is extensively used in the aerospace industry. It is commonly found in turbine blades, compressor discs, engine shafts, fasteners, and other critical components that require high strength and heat resistance at elevated temperatures.
Absolutely. Waspaloy is one of the most preferred materials for gas turbine components due to its ability to retain strength and resist oxidation at high operating temperatures, making it ideal for turbine discs, blades, and vanes.
ASME SB637 is a standard specification for precipitation-hardening nickel alloy bars, including Waspaloy (UNS N07001). It defines the required chemical composition, mechanical properties, and testing requirements to ensure the material meets quality and safety standards.
You can buy high-quality Waspaloy Round Bars from Jade Alloys, a trusted supplier and exporter based in India. All orders are dispatched with EN 10204 3.1 mill test reports, country of origin certificate, and third-party inspection available on request from SGS or Bureau Veritas.
Waspaloy outperforms Inconel 718 above 650°C in both tensile strength and oxidation resistance, making it the preferred choice for the hottest sections of gas turbine engines. Inconel 718 offers better weldability and is specified for lower-temperature structural components.
