About Wing Nuts
Wing Nuts are a special type of hand-driven fastening nuts designed with two wing-like projections that provide leverage for the thumb and fingers during tightening and loosening. These projections allow users to operate the nut easily without the need for any wrenching tools. Wing nuts are also widely known as butterfly nuts or butterfly wing nuts.
Butterfly wing nuts are used in areas where adjustment, assembly or disassembly is likely to be done frequently and are frequently seen in furniture, equipment panels, enclosures, clamps, fixtures, and light industrial assemblies. They are ergonomically built and can be installed easily as well as having a firm grip.
Wing nut dimensions are produced in both metric and imperial size, produced as per UNC, UNF, UN and ISO metric thread profiles. These nuts are manufactured in a huge assortment of material types and meet standard requirements of major ASTM, ASME, DIN, ISO, BS, and IS standards, which are compatible with international fastening standards.
