Nitronic round bars are austenitic stainless steel bars that are nitrogen enhanced, provide very high yield strength relative to either 304 or 316L, and have very good corrosion resistance and anti-galling characteristics. Nitronic bar stock is available at Jade Alloys in a large stock line between 3mm and 400mm with Nitronic 50/ XM-19 round bars and Nitronic 60 Round Bar (UNS S21800). These bars come in a variety of finishes, and they are produced according to the ASTM A276, ASTM A479 and ASME SA479 specifications. The orders are supported by EN 10204 3.1 mill test reports (MTC), and they are fully traceable and assuring of quality, as we have relied on the supply of our warehouse in Mumbai to more than 45 countries across the world.

Nitronic round bars are nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steel bars that deliver significantly higher yield strength than standard 304 or 316L stainless typically around twice the yield strength, while maintaining excellent corrosion resistance and toughness from cryogenic to elevated temperatures. The two main grades are Nitronic 50 (UNS S20910) and Nitronic 60 (UNS S21800).
Nitronic 50 is the high-strength, high-corrosion-resistance grade preferred for marine shafting, pump shafts, and subsea fasteners. Nitronic 60 is optimised for galling and wear resistance through elevated silicon and manganese additions, specified for valve stems, wear rings, and sliding contact components. Nitronic 50 offers approximately twice the yield strength and superior chloride pitting and crevice corrosion resistance vs 316L. In marine, oil & gas, and cryogenic environments, it outperforms 316L significantly. 316L remains the more economical choice where strength demands are modest.
