About Hex Flange Bolts
Hex Flange Bolts are hexagon head bolts featuring a built-in washer-like flange beneath the head and an externally threaded body. The flange also spreads the clamping load across a broader surface area, and thus, eliminates a separate washer and enhances joint stability. Hex flange bolts are available with plain or serrated flange configurations to suit different anti-loosening requirements.
Hexagon flange bolts are also called frame bolts or flange bolts. They are defined in both imperial and metric dimensions with Unified National Coarse (UNC), Unified National Fine (UNF), Unified (UN) and ISO metric thread profiles. These bolts are manufactured using carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel and special alloy materials in compliance to the ASTM and international standards.
Hex flange bolts are widely used in the automotive industry, particularly in truck assemblies and heavy vehicle frames, where resistance to vibration and consistent clamping force is essential.
