Monel 400 Fasteners are competing nickel-copper alloy parts that have been produced using UNS N04400 (Werkstoff No. 2.4360), which offer a high degree of mechanical strength and superior corrosion resistance to seawater, chloride environments and a large number of corrosive media. This alloy is a solid solution alloy and cannot be hardened by conventional heat treatment, the mechanical properties required are achieved by suitable cold working.
